Allan Hjorth: "Most web pages we perceive in automatic zombie mode: visually, they all follow expected and habitual patterns. In other words: in the visual perceptual structure they all look alike.
XXL2r takes us out of the automatic perceptual patterns. Maybe, the strength of XXL2-r is precisely this: we actually have to look at the page with "new eyes", because our "automatic mode" is interrupted. It definitely feels different."
Go to this page for a detailed overview of all Theme Styles.

The XXL2 responsive RapidWeaver* theme has a drop down menu in the sidebar with more sublevels. Down- and right arrows show the menu-items with a sublevel for clear navigation through your website.

Background Images or Slideshows

XXL2-r has an option built-in for an (animated) Fullsize Background. This theme is suited for your showcase and portfolios and resizes images to fill browser while maintaining image dimension ratio. You can use the free Slider stacks for this or the snippets in the download file. The setup is dead simple: drop the HV-Slider stack into a Stacks page and drop a HV-Slider Image stack in it for each image. All settings are in the Side Panel.
There’s a Flickr version of the XXL2-r theme in the download file too. It pulls all images from Flickr. I’ve explained it in the manual. It has the same options and look as the XXL2-r theme, but no play/pause button.
There’s an example RW6 file in the download file with the stacks and the snippets.
Optional are the Slide Controls:
• Slide Caption
• Counter
• Progress Bar (not in the Flickr version)
• Pause/Play button (not in the Flickr version)
• Prev/Next Arrows
• Show/Hide Button (so your visitors can hide the content when they want to see your images)
• Previous/Next Thumbnails.
• Thumbnail Tray
You can choose between different image transitions:
• Fade
• Slide
• Carousel.
And of course the speed, length of transition and much more.
I’ve added some background-image effects to the Theme Styles too. By default there’s no effect.

Fixed or Absolute Menu

By default the menu is absolute, but optional is a fixed menu with a scrollable content. An example is this page: the menu is always visible when you scroll down.

ExtraContent allows you to add more content then RapidWeaver typically allows. There is an extra content snippet in the download file, but with a Stacks page it's much easier to use the free ExtraContent stack or this ExtraContent Plus stack. Learn more about Extra Content here.
There are 6 ExtraContent areas in the XXL2-r theme:
EC1 is at the top of the page, great for adding your social icons, date, time or whatever.
EC2 is just above the footer.
ExtraContent3 is below the footer.
ExtraContent4 is above the menu. Nice for a short message, social icons or a search box.
ExtraContent5: don’t use this area for text, only for a banner image, slideshow or video in your content (read the manual). See this example.
ExtraContent6: at the bottom right side of the page. Great for adding a button (for example with the Hide ’n’ Show stack (see chapter below), social icons or a search box. Or put the footer text here.
It’s all up to you.

In the Theme Styles you can choose between a small, medium, wide or extra wide container width. Optional with a left margin or without a left margin.

Responsive Design and Browsers Support

The traditional fixed width design doesn't work any more. Web design needs to be adaptive. The layout needs to be automatically adjusted to fit all display resolution and devices.
Narrow your browser with this page, or check it on your iPhone/iPad/Android device. Or have a look here.
A website created with this theme will work in all modern browsers and on your tablet or smartphone.

Waterfall enabled

Easy, automatic theme updating with the plugin Waterfall for both RapidWeaver® 5 & 6.
The hassle of manually updating themes is a pain point every RapidWeaver user has run into as some point. Waterfall is your effortless theme management tool, specifically designed to help save you time and prevent the headaches all too often associated with theme updating.

The Logo and the Title have a link with the index.html page of your website. By default the logo is above the Title (example). Optional you can put it at the right side of the Title and Slogan. Read the manual how to use a large logo.

With Font Awesome you have over 500 icons at your disposal, in any color and any size you like. And they are completely free for commercial use.

Fluid images

Built-in is an option to make your images fluid (not needed with images an image stack in a Stacks page), whether they are in the content or in the sidebar. Very simple: only add the text flexible in the input field of the Alt Tag in the Media Inspector. Read the Manual about this.

This theme provides built-in support for Nimblehost's RapidSearch plugin (not included). You can put a Searchbox (you'll need the RapidSearch plugin for this) in the ExtraContent or somewhere else (sidebar, content, footer). With a checkbox in the Theme Styles > Miscellaneous section you’ll get a cleaner look. Read the Manual how to use the search box.

Before sending me questions, please try all options, so you can see what opportunities this theme provides. Almost every day new stacks are released and I haven't test them all. So I cannot guarantee that every stack will work.

The Manual is very detailed. Read this very carefully before you send me questions. If your troubles are not exclusive to my theme or if you think the issue might be a software concern, please do a search on the Realmac Software forum first.

But you can also post your questions on the Realmac Software forums and I am sure that I or one of the folks there will help straighten you out enough.
